| Now the reason I called this the Verse of the Moment is because we all have favorite verses I'm sure. But sometimes one verse speaks to us more in one moment than another depending on what we are going through or what God is speaking to us about.
So for the moment, what is your favorite verse and why? What does it say to you when you read it?
I'll reply with mine later =)

| There are so many, but one is special to me. I sometimes get depressed and one night I was crying and asking God to hear my prayers. That night,a little bit into the chapter,it said,"Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years." Isaiah 38:5 Maybe this seems insignificant to you,but when I read,"I have heard thy prayers;I have seen thy tears," it just..."hit" me. I felt like God was speaking right to me.It felt like my stomach did a flip. And after I read it,a peace came over me. | |

| Well for right now, its Psalms 91 "1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. " I found that when I was going through a hard time. And no matter what my trial is as long as I stay under the shadow of the Almighty then I will be fine =] | |

Isaiah 38:5 Maybe this seems insignificant to you,but when I read,"I have heard thy prayers;I have seen thy tears," it just..."hit" me. I felt like God was speaking right to me.It felt like my stomach did a flip. And after I read it,a peace came over me. I know EXACTLY what you mean. I read the Psalms, and usually I have a favorite chapter or two, but one day I was feeling TERRIBLE--going though some major junk, and I cried out to God to hear ME, to RESPOND to ME, to make Scripture come ALIVE . . . and He DID. I have a little KJV pocket Bible. It was really weird, but I felt as if God Himself turned the pages of that Bible, because I just turned them seemingly randomly, and for about six or seven pages, at LEAST one verse per page leaped out at me. I started noticing details, little things in verses I had read hundreds of times before--it felt like God Himself was teaching me what I needed to know right then. I could feel Him right beside me--or rather, around me, as I turned the pages. I kept reading and reading, and then when the sense of guidance stopped, I just started praising God, weeping . . . at total peace. That peace felt like an insulating blanket, and I could feel the worries and fears bumping into it, but I COULDN'T worry. As long as I kept my thoughts on God, everything was COOL. I had been so worried, that peace lifted a weight off my shoulders. If I had tried to keep going otherwise, I wouldn't have made it. Psalm 46, 51, 62, 68, 91, 103, John 14:27, and 1 John 1:9 are the ones that come to mind right now.
